Vertical Shaft Kilns Vertical Shaft Kilns burning Lime, Magnesite, Dolomite, other minerals, to their respective oxides etc. , can use Acticast in the dosage of 1 to 1.5 Kg / ton of fuel (Coal, Charcoal, Hard Coke), to lower 15 to 20% Kcal requirement (Identical GCV fuel) per Ton of output. The fuel charge weight per mineral charge weight can be reduced. For example for every 100 Kg coal per 1000 Kg lime stone, can be reduced to 85 kg Coal per 1000 kg lime stone.
The throughput of the kiln & productivity also will increase with the Application. Down Draft Kilns Down Draft Kilns employed for production of potteries, bricks, pipes, mineral oxides can lower black smoke emissions & lower coal consumption by 15 to 20%. The heat retention is much higher compared to normal operation.
Two methods are available for lowering fuel consumption with Acticast application :
1) Keeping identical working hours with product application & consume lesser fuel through out the operation
2) Fire the same amount of fuel with product application & close the kiln early (close 4 to 6 hours early & save the fuel, which was to be fired in that period) The user should check periodically the sample for heating estimation & take decision accordingly to avoid over heating or over burning.
