Coal consumption reduction per Ton of DRI in Sponge Iron Kilns Acticast is a specialty chemical powder which can be applied along with coal. It has similar composition of coal ash & does not contribute any Calorific value input to the system. Acticast increases rate of heat absorption of the Ore, making the Ore more receptive to reduction. Acticast also induces chemical & balance of unreacted C, CO, CO2 in the system achieving heat balance simultaneously.
Acticast can be applied on coal fed from both the sides of the kiln to obtain the following advantages 1) Higher FeT (lower carbon / ton of DRI -- Identical FC & moisture content coal)
2) Higher throughput of the Kiln 3) Stable temperatures across all zones of the kiln
